Lochanside
Saturday, December 13, 2025
6-9 PM
Spend your evening at Madden’s Irish Pub in Elroy with live Celtic music from Lochanside, performing from 6 to 9pm on December 13. This Madison-based folk band plays a mix of traditional Irish and Scottish tunes along with more recent Celtic music that’s full of energy and heart.
The name Lochanside comes from a Scottish term that means “beside the lochan,” referring to the peaceful, scenic areas next to small lakes in the Scottish countryside. It’s a word often found in poetry and music, including a well-known bagpipe tune of the same name known for its reflective and tranquil sound. Fittingly, Lochanside’s music captures that spirit, combining energetic tunes with more melodic, easygoing Scottish airs.
Featuring shuttle bagpipes, guitar, fiddle, tin whistle, and bodhrán, the band brings authentic Celtic instrumentation and heart to every performance. Whether you're here for the music, the pub fare, or a pint, it’s the perfect way to spend an evening in Elroy. Event is free for customers.

The West Fork Gals, a high-spirited, all-female string band, bring the rich traditions of old-time, bluegrass, and folk music to life.
From the hills of Appalachia to the misty roots of Irish and Scottish melodies, this music was carried across oceans by immigrants and shaped into something uniquely American.
